League of Legends

I have been playing a lot of League of Legend lately ever since they announced Season 1 giving us the opportunity to play ranked games. Before they changed the system so that only lvl 30 summoners could play a ranked game, I played three ranked game and only won one, which doesn’t even put me on the ladder. I’m lvl 23 right now and I’m mostly using Janna as my champion. Janna is a very passive and fast champion, she the fastest in the game. Sure I’ve been able to score a few lucky kills with her, but the problem with Janna is that she relies a lot on ability powers and the items to give her that are very costly and it is hard to make Janna into a gold farmer because she mostly need other items, of course I’ve been able to make a lot more money with the Philosopher stone, that give her the much-needed extra gold and mana regeneration she needs, but it is still a pain to get the items for her AP built. I know there is the DPS Janna built but the one I’ve seen so far is just meh. So if any of you can help me with a good AP or DPS Janna built please tell me. I’ve seen a lot of YouTube video’s showing the different built but the screen item is so small that you can’t see them and they don’t explain anything at all either…

I’m just tired

Woke up at 7 am today so I could help my parents get the firewood in. Four hours later we were done putting the logs in the house, it was hot over 30 degree celsius anyway I’m sure I’ll have to do it over again next week-end, for me this is the worse part of summer. On the upside I get to eat BBQ tonight ^____^

Starchaser: Legend of Orin

Of all the animated movies I watched as a kid very few can still be considered good after watching it as an adult 25 years later. It is hard to describe what I felt as a kid when I watched the movie on the TV other than I liked it very much, of course when you’re a kid you pretty much like everything that is shown on the TV.

For those who don’t know Starchaser: Legend of Orin is an animated film that was released in 1985 and according to IMDB was filmed in 3-D.

“Set on the subterranean Mine-World, a band of human worker are treated like slaves under the power of the evil overlord Zygon until one, Orin, unearths the hilt of a mythical sword that only he can master. Escaping the planet, he runs into the rogue smuggler Dagg and a pair of helpful droids and the princess, who all team up to return to the Mine-World with a plan to defeat Zygon and free Orin’s enslaved people. Last week I decided to watch Starchaser again and I found that I still liked the movie very much, the overall theme and plot mostly follow “The Chosen One” story a bit cliché I know. Starchaser has a very Star Wars feel to it from the characters to the way they interacted with each other, to the plot and finally to the music score. There is one part that I tought I was actually listening to Star Wars music. The animation is top-notch and seems to have stood the test of time, this come from when we had Thundercats, Transformers, He-man just to name a few. The voice acting was also pertinent and didn’t have annoying voices that you would sometimes found in animated films. If you look at the voice actors section of Starchaser on http://www.imdb.com you’ll see talent like Anthony De Longis and quite a few others.

The one of things I have to nitpick about Starchaser is the pacing sometimes things would happen very fast and would leave you with a what did just happen question. I think this is mostly due because this was a 1h47 minute length film and not say a trilogy or even a mini-series. Also there are some very wierd situations in the films that make you wonder if this was really targeted at children but then this was the 80′s there was no rating content back then.

Starchaser even after 25 years is a movie that stood the test of time and is well worth watching again especially if like me you watched it as a kid.

Star Wars: Fatal Alliance

After following SW:TOR for so long, you imagine how happy I was to finally have more to read about the events of SW:TOR other than the tidbits Bioware was willing to release on the game. Since I didn’t want to wait for the bookstore to have it on hand, I decided to get it from Audible.com for free as my 14 days trial. I’m at chapter eight right now and I find myself enjoying the book immensely granted I still can’t spell half of the characters names, listening to a book is not quite the same as reading one but well free is free. One thing I’m particularly happy about is that two of the main characters are Kiffar the same human sub species as Quilan Vos, overall even if I’m not finished with the book yet, I strongly recommend the purchase of it and I do plan to buy it in Hardcover form as soon as my bookstore has it.

I bought the game Collector Edition for the X-BOX 360 Friday and can’t seems to be able to put it down, I’m at 13% completed. My favorite NPCs are so far Alistair and the dog I named Ordo. I came across an easter egg or two while playing there was a character named Edwina and a shipmate named Casavir I don’t know if they are indeed easter eggs but well you know ^___^. Anyway i’m going back to play the game now.

Vacation’s over

All good things eventually come to an end, especially vacations. I had one week of it and I think I would have needed another week. It’s not even funny I didn’t get to relax or play my video games or go to the cinema like I planned to do, instead I worked all week around the house to get ready for the winter season, lost the dog twice and had to do the firewood. My week of vacation went by without even me seeing it, now it’s monday and i’m back at work.

I need another week off!!!

Radio Drama…er…Podcast Drama!!!

Remember when there used to have Radio Drama Show? Well ok maybe you don’t quite remember but even before there was TV, Radio Drama Show were popular and when TV was invented it kind of fell into the background. Now with people being able to make their own Radio Show or Podcast, a new old kind of entertainment surfaced the Podcast Drama I’m not sure if it’s that popular but it’s still entertainment. Today I have one that I want to talk about mostly because it’s about one of my favorite fandom; Star Wars.

The first one is actually what made me look for more Podcast Drama, it’s made by DeaconX called Heroes of the Old Republic . There are 2 episodes out so far, the first one kind of a prequel to the series that introduce us to one of the main character, a soldier that went MIA during the sacking of Coruscant. That’s Episode 0: Deception at Coruscant while it was the first of the series it had a few technical problem such as the music being too loud when the actors were speaking and it was a bit hard to understand what was said, but that is my only complaint about it. Overall if DeaconX continue his vision that way, this series is going to be one of the best I ever heard or seen since there is a video version of it. Episode 1: The Artful Dodger continues the trend of a good podcast drama but this time around the sound quality is better, there is still the problem of the music being louder than the voices but it is less noticable. We are also treated to a few more voice talents in the mix, including GM Dave from the Holocron podcast and few active people of the community. Overall this show gets a 4/5 It’s good but not perfect yet.

Been a while

I know I know this place hasn’t seen much activities for the past few months, I’ve been doing work and well to much twitter in the mis I finally found a layout I liked, but surprise the video’s don’t quite fit in, I’ll try to go around that little problem and see if I can fix it.

MMO games for all!

I’ve been playing a few “internet” games lately, the first one was Freerealms made by Sony entertainment of course like the name suggest it’s free, but it follow the micro transaction trend and for around 5.00 USD a month you get access to exclusive jobs and items. It’s not bad for a game gameplay wise kind of remind me of WoW but a bit more toned down or casual. There is no aggro in this games meaning that you have to attack the enemies for them to attack you. Best thing of all it’s not a ressource hog like some games that requires you to download a client.

Next is Evony a browser stategy game, you start with a village and have to built it up, manage your resources, make alliances, all in a medieval setting. I like this game it has a nice pace to it. It is free also but there is also micro transaction in the game but it by no means ruins the game, it just make your progression a bit slower but each time you finish a quest you have rewards. To me to know that I have worked to get the items is better than to have bought them. If you want a nice strategy game and free to play this one is for you

The last game is Ether Saga Online a cutsy graphic game based on the Journey to the West book, I haven’t played that one yet because I am only just downloading the game client right now.I t should also be noted that it’s free to play, I don’t know if there is micro transactions present in the game but it wouldn’t surprise me if there was.

These are just the three games i’ve been seeing if you want more simply go to the MMORPG‘s website as they have all the info on MMORPG games and then some more. I’ll be sure to tell you what I think of Ether Saga online as soon as I play it.

I’m sorry it came to this point but with my unstable internet and my very limited time because of work. I didn’t even have time to post here either and the only way i can get a stable internet connection is to at the Presse Cafe using my Ipod touch until I can buy myself a laptop.
